Budgies
The budgerigar, also known as the common pet parakeet or shell parakeet and informally nicknamed the budgie, is a small, long-tailed, seed-eating parrot. Budgerigars are the only species in the Australian genus Melopsittacus and are found wild throughout the drier parts of Australia where the species has survived harsh inland conditions for the last five million years. We offer a large range of coloured budgies and would recommend them as a pet as they are easy to tame and usually quiet. They will also mix well with Cockatiels and small parakeets in spacious aviaries.

Cockatiels
The cockatiel, also known as the Quarrion and the Weiro, is a member of the cockatoo family endemic to Australia. They are ideal as a household pet and companion parrot throughout the world and are straightforward to breed in an aviary. They are relatively easy to tame and will interact. If they are kept in a spacious aviary they should mix well with Budgies, Parakeets and Quail. Cockatiels are second in popularity to the budgie.

Conures
We offer small and large conures; both will make brilliant pets as they have vibrant and bright colours. The smaller conures should be kept in aviaries or large breeding cages and if encouraged are able to mimic repetitive words and sounds. The larger conures should also be kept in aviaries or large breeding cages but can often be noisy.

Large Parakeets
The various large parakeets we sell are Plumheads, Quakers, Rosellas and Ringnecks. We know that Plumheads, Princess of Wales and Quaker birds can be kept in mixed aviaries with most birds. Rosellas and Ringnecks, however, should be kept as a pair in individual aviaries, although may mix in aviaries without any nest boxes. All will make good pets because of their vibrant colours and moderate noise level, especially the ringnecks.

Lovebirds
A Lovebird is one of nine species of the genus and are a social, affectionate small parrot. Lovebirds live in small flocks and eat fruit, vegetables, grasses and seed. They make great house birds due to their bright colours, noise and interaction but if kept in an aviary, they should only be kept with other Lovebirds.
